People in Thurles Cathedral doused with water from Inch St. Laurence Holy Well!  Waters from holy wells in every parish were mingled in the blessing of everybody by Archbishop Kieran. Water is colourless & transparent.. in this respect it retains an affinity with the unseen. The ‘blessing’ is understood to infuse the water with the energy of the Holy Spirit.  It was a very moving ceremony with great music, singing and dance. Inspiring to see representatives of  many different cultures in their own dress involved.  It was good to see his mother (woman in her 90s) there.
THEN SINGS MY SOUL: BBC Two (Northern Ireland) – history of hymns & chants.

She brought great ‘heart’ & has always been readily at hand to help us out down through many years. We wish her good health and well being.  What is a Sacristan? The church defines a “Sacristan” as “a person in charge of the sacristy and church-related ceremonial equipment”. They are often also the person that many parishioners first meet when they call to the church sacristy with requests, questions or ideas. If you are interested in becoming Sacristan, contact Fr. Roy (087-2225150).
